Stan was born in Penn Yan, New York. Stan has two sons, Stanley and James and two grandchildren, Kennedy and Colin.

Stan on February 7,1952, while attending Geneva High School enlisted in the United States Army. While on active duty he completed his high school education. Stan served with the 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict from July 1952 to 1953. He also served with the 1st Infantry Division and the 197th Trans BN, during the Vietnam Conflict from 1965 to 1967, and from 1969 to 1971. He continued his service until his honorable retirement in March 1972.

After retiring from the Army Stan returned home to Penn Yan. He was appointed Director of the Yates County Veterans Service Agency in September 1974 and worked until his retirement in September 1994.

 

 

Cayuga County Committee,  7th District, proudly presents, Mary J. Williams as  President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New York for 2005-2006. She was installed on July 9, 2005 at the Department Convention in Binghamton, NY. Installing Officer was Phyllis Bachman, Past National President

Mary’s eligibility is through her husband Robert, a retired Navy veteran after 22 years of service including tours during both Korea and Vietnam.

A 28 year member of the Auxiliary, Mary has served in most elected offices and committee appointments in both her Unit and County. She has been Unit President and Membership Chairman numerous times and has served as County president five terms.
